Did this building become the TB sanatorium or was that somewhere else?
Yes it did and following the fire a new ward building was built. More than half of the this building was destroyed before it was taken over in the 70’s by The Agricultural Institute.
I went to school there in the 1950s and early 60s, what memories I have of the convent; all good and takes me back to simpler times in Ballinrobe.
I have lived in Texas for many years as well as other parts of the USA. God bless all of the people in Ballinrobe for they and the town hold many memories for me.
Would like to see (if possible!?): dates or circa, and names of people and places on images on ‘the site’
