Ballinrobe - Feature from Mid West on the new Facilities at the Racecourse

New clip on the latest news from Ballinrobe Race Course – Mayo’s only course which goes from ‘strength to strength’.

Its great to see the work of the very active Committee, under the Chairmanship of John Staunton (since 1990) and Manager John Flannelly, being appreciated and supported by so many people.

We hope you enjoy your racing over the years, with all the family and friends involved in this social event.

Ballinrobe’s course is beautifully situated with a full view of the entire track.

Watch out for a great fun day on August 19th next with Mid West Radios ‘Crack on the Track’ event which has been very successful in the past.

Just allow about 25/30 seconds for the start of the Ballinrobe section of the clip!…………………

  • Would suggest that: articles such as this be considered as “advertisements”, rather than historical events on this Historical website. Just a thought?

Reply:  on one hand I agree with you Gerry.   However, when we try to get historical facts about any activity or development around Ballinrobe, if it was not written down somewhere it gets lost and no records exist.  So today’s news becomes to-morrow’s history.

We are currently seeking information about racing in Ballinrobe since 1773.
