Neary, Walsh, O'Hara and McIntrye Families: Information Wanted
Am researching my Neary, Walsh, O’Hara and McIntrye families from Co Mayo and am wondering if the Ballinrobe area held any quarries that were used by stone cutters in the 1800 to 1860s?
Was Philadelphia a place where many Co Mayo people immigrated in 1840s onward?
Any info much appreciated.

O’HARE and PHILADELPHIA This makes me question…?
My O’Hare (Hare) line came from Ballinrobe, along with my McHugh line. There was a 1st generation immigrant, William O’Hare, that had a daughter. Her name was Mayme O’Hare and she married John Giacometti in Louisville, Kentucky. They moved to Philadelphia and had one son, John Baptiste Giacometti. Is any of this sounding familiar? The quarry off the Cornmarket became the town dump for Ballinrobe at least during 1950-1960.
It received most of the contents of my grandfather’s house in 1961.
